Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is the daughter of a mixed-race family from South London in England. Madekwe is English as well as her father was Nigerian. She went to The Brit School when she was 14. She received her Bachelor of Arts in acting from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. During her time at the academy, she performed in numerous performances on stage, such as The King Henry V playing Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights portraying Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe's acting career started with Storm Damage. In the years since, she's been a guest star in Teachers, Doctors, Casualty as well as Drop Dead Gorgeous. Her debut film as a performer was the Woody Allen 2007 movie Cassandra's Dream. She starred opposite Colin Farrell & Ewan MacGregor. In the following film, she was the lead in Elisha on a BBC Three pilot drama, in West 10 LDN. In addition, she appeared as Ollie in six episodes each in the series Trexx, Flipside, and Flipside. In the ITV2 drama Secret Diary of a Call Girl saw her in 2008 playing Bambi. Madekwe starred in the comedy film How to Lose Friends & Alienate People. She also appeared as a character in Little Sweet Thing, by Roy Williams, and Flight Path, by David Watson.
Madekwe's US debut came in 2009 when she appeared on The dramatic The Beautiful Life. The series aired only two episodes prior to being cancelled on The CW. Ashley Davenport was her role in the ABC drama Revenge. After being a regular for the first two seasons, it was announced in May 2013 that she would leave the show after her appearance on the premiere episode from the 3rd season. From 2014 to 2016, she starred in Salem in the role of Tituba. Madekwe married her actor partner Iddo goldberg in June 2012. They worked together in the film Secret Diary of a Call Girl. He also played alongside Madekwe on Salem.
Ashley Leggat is a Gemini-nominated actress, who was born into an extended family. Her parents were Roy and Patty Leggat. She was raised by the parents Roy and Patty as well as four brothers who were older than them: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. Ashley's family, which is all sportsmen, played baseball during the summer and played hockey in the winter months. Ashley didn't walk, instead she was a dancer. At age two and half she discovered Baby Ballet. Ashley became passionate about dance immediately after that. Ashley competed in top-level divisions for jazz, tap ballet, hip hop, lyrical musical theatre, acrobatics and pointe, until she finished from high school. Ashley won the best soloist prize at each major dance competition, including International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, to name just the few.
