Anita Saarkessian
Anita Sarkeesian is a Canadian-American feminist media critic as well as a public speechwriter. She was the creator of Feminist Frequency a website that provides commentary and videos on portrayals of women in popular culture. Anita Sarkeesian is an award-winning feminist journalist from Canada and a blogger. Feminist Frequency is a not-for profit website that focuses on the representation of women in pop stories of culture - was created and directed by Sarkeesian. Committed to destroying the stereotypes related to women in popular culture, she has also been working on issues related the gender-specific harassment of women as well as others online. Sarkeesian has a degree in social thought and politics from York University. She is an extremely well-respected and respected public speaking. Sarkeesian delivered speeches to the TEDxWomen XOXO Festival and United Nations Broadband Working Group. She has been interested in feminist issues, gender and gender equality from a very young stage of her life. In 2009, while in university she started the Feminist Frequency website.
