Chaka Khan
Chaka Khan is an American musician and singer. Also, she's known as her nickname of the Queen of Funk. Her total number of Grammy awards is 10 Grammys in her long career spanning more than fifty years. Billboard listed her as the 65th most popular dancer of all time. Her birthplace was in Chicago, Illinois and introduced to jazz at a very young time by her grandma. At the beginning of her career, she performed in diverse of bands. Then, she joined a group known as Rufus. The group made her debut album around the age of twenty. A year later, the group was awarded the first Grammy. In the following years, she recorded her first album as a sole artist. Her subsequent releases included a variety of albums through the years such as 'Echoes Of An Era", 'The Woman I Am', and 'Funk This'. Beyond her contributions to the music industry, she also gained reputation for her charitable activities. Chaka Khan Foundation was established in order to aid children from low-income families and people with autism. Khan has also been a protracted actor. She played the role of Sister Carrie as the main character in the musical "Mama I Want To Sing'.
