
American actor Thomas William Selleck. His most famous role was private investigator Thomas Magnum in the television series Magnum, P.I. (1980-1988) and for which he received five nominations for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead actor in a Drama Series. The award was presented to him in 1985. From 2010 until the year 2010, Selleck has been the New York City Police Chief Frank Reagan. In nine TV movies based upon the Robert B. Parker novels in which he portrayed Jesse Stone, a troubled small-town police chiefwho began his career in 2005. Selleck also played Peter Mitchell, a bachelor architecture as well as a bachelor architecture student in Three Men and a Baby (1987), and Three Men and A Little Lady(1990). Since Magnum, P.I., his appearances have included more than fifty roles on television and film, including the films Quigley Down Under, Mr. Lassiter and baseball.
